Epithelial Membrane Antigen(EMA),or CA15-3, or polymorphic epithelial mucin(PEM), or sialomucin, or episialin is a mucin like glycoprotein. EMA is valuable as a marker in the detection of breast carcinoma metastasis in histological selection of liver, lymph node, and bone marrow, and is useful for differentiation anaplastic carcinoma from malignant lymphomas, and for the recognition of spindle cell epithelial malignancies.
